Family's extraordinary journey from poverty in the Caribbean

England rising star reveals heartfelt relationship with father

WEB Cole Palmer has opened up for the first time about his family's extraordinary journey from poverty in the Caribbean, as the England rising star won his first cap for his country.

In his column for The Players Tribune, Palmer revealed the heartfelt relationship with his father, Jermaine Palmer, who used to play football as an amateur in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Palmer's grandfather, also named Jermaine, told of the family's struggles in the Caribbean, and how they eventually made their way to England in search of a better life.

Palmer, who was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester on May 6, 2002, has emerged as one of the brightest talents in English football. He has been capped at youth level for England and made his senior debut in a friendly against Switzerland in March 2022.

Palmer's family background is diverse, with Kittitian heritage from his father and Jamaican heritage from his mother. He credits his father with instilling in him a love of football and a strong work ethic.

"My dad is my hero," Palmer wrote. "He's the one who taught me everything I know about football. He's always been there for me, no matter what."

Palmer's story is an inspiration to anyone who has ever dreamed of achieving great things. It is a story of hard work, determination, and the power of family.
